During August 24th to August 29th, the tourism promotion “Core of Maritime Silk Road: Refreshing Fujian” is held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and then Manila, Philippines. The promotion starts with the video Welcome to Refreshing Fujian, and introduces the rich tourism resources of Fujian with live multimedia and Fujian folk performances, etc. sharing the “Top Ten Tourism Stories about Refreshing Fujian” and leading the guests to experience the unique charm of “Core of Maritime Silk Road: Refreshing Fujian”.  The guests can also taste various Fujian specialty food such as Minnan Pie, Peanut Candy, Wuyi Rock Tea, Jasmine Tea, etc. and experience unique Fujian customs such as Bobing (mooncake game) and Fortune Rubbing , which enable the guests to have a better understanding of “Refreshing Fujian”. Xiao Changpei, vice director of Fujian Provincial Tourism Development Committee, points out that the tourism exchanges are focused on cooperation. In the past more than two thousand years, China has made friendly exchanges with people of all countries and created the world-famous Maritime Silk Road and Land Silk Road together with them. Fujian is the birthplace of Maritime Silk Road and also the core area of Maritime Silk Road in 21st Century determined by Chinese government. The Promotion aims to attract more tourists from Southeast Asian to visit Maritime Silk Road in Fujian. The organizers hope to deepen the friendly cooperation between Southeast Asia and Fujian, share the development dividend of Fujian tourism and jointly create a bright future for the tourism industries.

 The Fujian delegation pay a special visit to Chinese Tourism Association in Malaysia, Philippine Cebu Friendship Association, Jiamei Travel Agency, Cebu Fortune Travel Agency and other well-known travel agencies to conduct in-depth exchanges on topics such as the promotion of tourism products and routes, etc. And a number of consensuses were reached on connectivity, mutual visits and exchanges, and mutual promotion, etc. The delegation also evaluate the work of the overseas tourism promotion centers in Malaysia and China set up by Fujian province. The vice director Xiao stressed that it is necessary to effectively improve the timeliness of publicity by actively carrying out media publicity and tourism exhibitions, and organizing trial run of the tourism routes based on the center. During the meeting, the Fujian provincial Tourism Development Committee awards the title of “Refreshing Fujian Tourism Marketing Consultant” to the major delegations of Malaysia and Philippines, which will further enrich the promotion channels of Fujian in Southeast Asia and deepen the exchanges of tourism industries.
