Located on the mezzanine floor of Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang, Feringgi Grill was established in late 1973. Where many other fine-dining restaurants have come and gone, Feringgi Grill is the only restaurant in Penang that has been operational for almost 45 years and is still considered the most popular dining outlet of its class in Malaysia. Sited at a vantage point, the restaurant provides breath-taking views of beautifully landscaped gardens spanning 30 acres around the resort.
The icing on the cake was that the restaurant has also won the Malaysia Tourism Award for “Innovative Restaurant” in the International Restaurant category, despite keen competition among other fine-dining restaurant nominees in Malaysia.
The Malaysia Tourism Awards, now in its 20th year, is described as the “Oscars” of the tourism and hospitality industry in Malaysia. It recognises and honours tourism businesses and brands that contribute positively to Malaysia’s image. This prestigious award ceremony, held once every two years, is an opportunity to gather all national and local authorities, hotels, restaurants, attractions, tour operators and travel agencies to celebrate the Malaysian hospitality excellence known around the world.
Inspired by the legendary beach of the same name, Feringgi Grill has two private rooms, a Cigar room and a cellar with an extensive stock of wines, champagne and spirits.
