After Madrid, we took a high-speed train to Valencia, a city that perfectly showcases Spanish culture, history, and innovation, while also being a friendly and sustainable green city.
Our first activity was a guided tour of the city center, visiting some of Valencia’s most iconic landmarks. The Valencia Cathedral is renowned for its stunning architecture, while the Silk Exchange, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the bustling Central Market are among the tour’s highlights. We also visited the Church of San Nicolás, often referred to as the “Sistine Chapel of Valencia,” with its breathtaking frescoes. A visit to the Lladro store gave us insight into the city’s famous porcelain craftsmanship.
For lunch, we dined at the Brasserie Restaurant of Hotel Balneario Las Arenas, located by the beach. The meal was a perfect fusion of local flavours and international cuisine. Afterward, we strolled along the port, marina, and beach, soaking in the vibrant coastal atmosphere of Valencia.
We then visited the Oceanogràfic, Europe’s largest aquarium, where we encountered a wide variety of marine life. Our day in Valencia concluded with a visit to the modern Hortensia Herrero Art Center, a must-see destination displaying contemporary art by various distinguished artists.
