The Bentayga S Black Edition is a special edition that takes the design edge of the Bentayga S and pushes it even further. With a selection of colour themes created by Bentley’s design team, it combines unique styling and rarity with the performance and technology of the Bentayga S. Featuring black exterior detailing, the Bentayga S Black Edition offers a choice of new accent colours that can be applied to the brake callipers and a pinstripe painted on the bodykit – an eye-catching accent unique to this car. The combination of black and an accent colour is also seen on the inside, where carbon fibre and dark chrome lends the cabin a dark, purposeful appearance.

Design

For the first time ever, Bentley is offering a choice of six colours for the brake callipers: red, mandarin, yellow, blue, green or silver. The colour you choose is then also used to paint a pinstripe on the components of the car’s sleek black body kit. Its imposing 22” wheels are complemented by the inclusion of the Blackline Specification, which turns all of the exterior detailing black. The Bentayga S Black Edition sees the Bentley ‘wings’ badges turned black for the first time in its 105-year history, along with the ‘BENTLEY’ wordmark on the tailgate.

Inside the cabin, Bentley has created a new colour layout, unique to this car. It takes the accent colour used on the outside and applies it to the stitching, the piping and sections of the leather trim. An exclusive carbon fibre weave pattern is featured on the fascia and waistrails, and dark chrome has been applied to the switchgear, including the centre vents, the bullseye air vents and their organ-stop controls.

Performance

You can order the Bentayga S Black Edition with either a 4.0 litre, twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine or a 3.0 litre plug-in hybrid powertrain, which gives you the ability to drive on electric power alone for limited distances.

The V8 engine is capable of generating 542 bhp (550 PS), which can propel you from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds), with a maximum speed of 180 mph (290 km/h). It comes with Bentley Dynamic Ride, a 48-volt electronic anti-roll system that tightens the suspension through corners for a greater sense of control, without compromising on the smooth ride you expect from a Bentley when cruising in a straight line. It is equipped with all-wheel steering, which offers two benefits: a smaller turning circle, which is useful when manoeuvring in tight spaces, and smoother lane changes at speed, for example when overtaking on the highway. It also includes an enhanced Sport Mode and Sports Exhaust.

The hybrid powertrain offers a maximum speed of 158mph (254km/h) when both the petrol engine and electric motor are engaged, and 84mph (135km/h) when driving on purely electric power – that’s enough to drive safely on most highways, while also giving you the ability to drive through ultra-lower emission zones.
