My first encounter with Hokkaido feels like a love letter, with each word and sentence warming the heart. From Otaru to Asahikawa, from Sapporo to Furano, these enchanting cities turn Hokkaido into our land of romance.

-Mount Moiwa

Dear H,

As I ascended Mount Moiwa, carried gently by the cable car, I beheld the grandeur of the surrounding mountain range. Mount Moiwa offers a romantic journey through mist and clouds for every traveller who arrives, offering a breathtaking view of Sapporo and a sense of infinite freedom and vastness. Standing upon the observation deck, the panoramic view of Sapporo was veiled by this fog, and I suddenly found myself immersed in a sea of clouds.

Wandering at the summit of the mountain, I saw you in the mist. I lost track of time, but the gentle sunlight of the sun eventually dispersed the clouds, gradually outlining the contours of the city. It dawned on me that lovers must be patient, for the lingering mist will eventually dissipate. What I have not told you is that I left a padlock on Mount Moiwa, inscribed with our names, as a testament to our promise to revisit this sacred place.
