The Edison George Town, a meticulously restored Anglo-Colonial mansion set in the heart of historical George Town, it is now a lifestyle hotel offering a combination of luxurious comfort, exceptional guest service and gracious hospitality where guests experience a sense of uniqueness.

With 35 luxuriously appointed guestrooms, the inspiration for the hotel’s interior design was a quirky take on Penang with whimsical touches of heritage blending with the timeless elegance of contemporary furniture, which extends to the modern yet traditional elements of quality and charm.
The hotel’s architecture, designed and built in 1906, was the vessel for this inspiration. Many of the building elements have protected status and have been carefully restored, resulting in a compelling mix of the old and the new, which continues to be experienced today. The magic of sincere inclusiveness, the way in which guest feels and is welcomed as if they have arrived home, remains a constant of our delivery of The Edison Experience.
The hotel’s wide usage of locally made crafts and the engagement of talented artisans showcase Penang’s cultural diversity and heritage charms, which enhance the hotel’s integration with the local community.
Many of the staff are able to curate street food recommendations around the hotel’s neighbourhood, which further builds on what guests can experience in George Town. Hotel hires locals who have all grown up here, so they can give the very best and most authentic recommendations.
