Loei is located in the northeastern region of Thailand, also known as Isan. Loei is known for its mountainous landscapes, three seasons of beautiful flowers, natural attractions, waterfalls, national parks, cultural heritage, and friendly locals.
Phu Kradueng and Phu Ruea National Parks are the most popular attractions in the province, well-known for their hiking trails and stunning scenic views. Chiang Khan Old Town is a charming traditional Thai village located on the banks of the Mekong River. It features well-preserved traditional Thai wooden houses, small cafes, and street vendors selling local products such as silk scarves and woven baskets.
Phi Ta Khon, also known as the Ghost Festival, is a three-day festival celebrated in Loei province. The festival, which usually takes place in June or July, is a combination of Buddhist merit-making and traditional animistic beliefs. It is believed that during the festival, the spirits of ancestors return to the human world. Participants dress up in colorful costumes and wear elaborate masks made from rice husks, coconut leaves, and other materials to scare away evil spirits and protect the living from harm.
Loei is a great destination for those seeking to explore new adventures and Thailand’s natural beauty and culture.
