Dear friends,
It is almost Christmas and the temperature outside is cold. It rains on some days and on others the sun shines, but it’s too shy to actually warm me up, and some days it looks magical, when the snowflakes slowly fall from the sky.
Every year in December, I’m decorated with warm lights and Christmas trees in every corner. Cafés and restaurants serve hot Swiss chocolate and runny cheese fondue, children’s eyes sparkle looking at gift shops, friends meet at the Christmas Markets to drink a winter punch together.
However, this winter feels a bit colder, because in light of the current situation many people that usually come here to warm up my streets, are just not able to. But I am here, and I will be here to welcome you with open arms once you all, my dear friends, are able to come back.
And when you do come back, I will surprise you with the many activities you can experience here. Art enthusiasts can discover many museums and galleries, inquisitive city explorers can see striking contrast between my picturesque Old Town and modern urban quarters. Nature lovers can delight in beautiful locations by the lake or climb up my very own mountain, the Uetliberg, while chocolate fans indulge in the brand new Lindt Home of Chocolate.
But for now, my dear friends, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and…
See you soon in Zurich, Switzerland!
