The reasons to fall in love with this city is simple: its climate, food, lifestyle and culture.
We visited Berlin during spring and the weather was cozy. The public transport network here is convenient and reliable for us to move around. While walking, we embraced the free spirit of this city.
Travelling around Europe with an unlimited transportation card is very useful with access to train, U-Bahn and bus. The must-eat food on the list includes currywurst, crispy pork knuckle, beer, red wine and chocolate.
The East Side Gallery, where the Berlin Wall once stood is now it’s the longest open-air gallery in the world consisting of a series of murals is now my favourite spot. Germany’s Parliament Building, The Bundestag, is close to Berlin’s landmark – the Brandenburg Gate, but visitors will have to book a slot online to visit The Bundestag.
Besides that, Topography of Terror, Checkpoint Charlie, Gendarmenmarkt, French Cathedral, Neue Kirche etc are some of the not be missed popular spots.
As the capital of Germany even after 30 years of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Berlin still has a lot of building and traces of World War II and the Cold War, but the joy of freedom shines on the faces of its citizen, giving this city a new life.
